DNG Brian Mac Mahon is delighted to bring to the market this absolutely beautiful, thatched cottage which dates back to the early 19th century and was once owned by Lady Christabel Ampthill as a hunting lodge. The property is wonderfully presented and maintained, with the well-proportioned rooms boasting good ceiling heights with heaps of character and charm.

The interior has traditional stone walls, with a vaulted ceiling in the Kitchen/Dining area however the property features contemporary touches, such as the fitted kitchen, and bathroom. Externally to the front the property is gated with a driveway providing sufficient off-street parking. The enclosed private rear garden has an easily maintained lawn and decking area with numerous sheds. The thatched roof was recently replaced and is regularly maintained.

The accommodation is comprised as follows: bright entrance, cosy sitting room with feature fireplace, large kitchen/dining area with beautiful feature inglenook fireplace and solid fuel stove. Complementing the kitchen are a spacious utility room and storeroom. There are two good-sized bedrooms which share a spacious walk-in wardrobe. The family bathroom completes the living accommodation for this attractive home.

Craughwell is a village in County Galway. Its village green has a statue of Lady Augusta Gregory, (1852-1932) a founding member of the Irish National Theatre and another of Anthony Raftery (c1784-1835), last of the great Gaelic bards, both by sculptor, Donal O’ Murhcadha. The Dunkellin River flows through the village. The village has various bars, a Garda station, a pharmacy, a furniture store, post office, hairdressers, a service station, a lawnmower shop, an athletics track, and various fast-food takeaways. It is located around 25km east of Galway City, which can be accessed via the 763 and 20 bus routes. The town of Loughrea is also just 12km to the east and can be accessed by bus also.
